Born too soon

Directed and written by Laure Delesalle

52 minutes

The premature infant weighing less than two pounds is a tiny tightrope-walker, teetering on the brink of life. He struggles to make his way through experiences and traumas, headed for the most uncertain of futures: becoming a human being.

As we observe the preemie’s highly medicalized, closely monitored journey ex utero, we shall attempt to understand one of the greatest mysteries of humanity: the first signs of the awakening of human consciousness in these tiny creatures.
